about

Behold Outerwear - the myth, the mystery, the disappointing reality. This was a Spike in Vain side project featuring Chris Marec, along with Robert Griffin stumbling on drums and their friend Beth Woodworth on bass. This 1984 cassette release is just as morbid as SIV, but with more laughs and barely any quality control. Why this was recorded in an actual studio is difficult to understand. How the engineer didn't boot them after a couple songs is perhaps a better question. But with Chris on guitar and vocals, it's fucked up, plenty dissonant, and there are even some good songs. And power tools, trombone, and backward guitars.
